Anti-ageing treatments: Do any of them actually work?

Hundreds of thousands of people are using ‘anti-ageing’ drugs such as steroid and growth hormones to help them live longer and look younger. But do they actually work?

A new study has discovered that people are wasting their money on these drugs.  Not only do they fail to slow the ageing process, they also do not increase muscle strength and aerobic capacity, another reason people are taking them.

Now America’s drug regulator, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is cracking down on suppliers.  One company, Specialty Services Distribution, has been fined $10.5m for distributing steroid and growth hormone (hGH) for ‘non-medical use’.
